generally when Sean asks me a question along the vein of a popular culture pop quiz, I have a few standard responses.

Out of the blue: "Do you know who Michael McDonald is?"
Me: "Um. .... Is he a Kid in the Hall?"
Him: "No! He's ______, dummy!"

Music is playing. Sean: "What do you think of this?"
Me: "Who is it, Phoenix?"
Him: "No! It's ______, dummy!"

Watching Adult Swim. "Hey! Recognize that voice?"
Me: "Um ... Jon Benjamin?"
Him: "NO! ______, dummy!"

Because all names of dudes are probably names of Kids in the Hall and all music being played right now is probably Phoenix and all animated voices are more than likely Jon Benjamin.

Please note: The "dummy" part of this equation is not always a constant. Use the aforementioned suggestions liberally, as you will be right 95% of the time.*
